This past fall, the Artistic Skating Community mourned the loss of Debra (Debbie) Comfort (1957-2024), an avid skater, coach, judge, and active member of Roller Sports Canada.
Debbie had an infectious love for skating, providing several generations of skaters with guidance and opportunities to deepen their understanding of and passion for our sport. Starting out as an ice skating coach, Debbie later coached artistic roller skating in Cambridge and managed several roller rinks in southern Ontario. In addition to teaching her own skaters, she also generously aided young coaches in learning their craft, and served as a judge for Roller Sports Canada. Our community was very fortunate to learn from her wealth of knowledge over the years. She will be greatly missed.
