Speed Skating – Coaching + Certification
Roller Sports Canada’s Speed Division aims to promote and support the ethical and safe practice of coaching by advancing coaching knowledge, methodologies, education, professional development, recognition, networking, and leadership opportunities within clubs, teams, and the broader roller and inline speed skating community.

RSC Speed Division Coach Recognition
To be recognized by the Roller Sports Canada (RSC) Speed Division as a coach, applicants must meet the following requirements. All information will be reviewed and verified by the RSC Speed Division as part of the Coach Recognition process.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have coaching education, training, or certification obtained through one or more of the following: Roller Sports Canada, National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) / Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), Roll Right, World Skate
- Have been actively involved in roller and inline speed skating for at least the past three years in one or more of the following capacities: Coach/ Instructor Athlete/participant, Official or Judge, Administrator
- Completion of Safe Sport training within the past two years
- Provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
Recognition Process
In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements above, applicants must:
- Contact the RSC Speed Division at speedcommittee@rollersports.ca to initiate the Coach Recognition process. Please use the subject line “RSC Coach Recognition”
- Be currently registered with Roller Sports Canada
- Provide a brief description of where coaching services are offered or intended to be offered
- Provide a brief summary of their coaching and relevant speed skating background
Annual Renewal
Coach Recognition is valid for the calendar year within which the Recognition takes place, and must be renewed annually. Coaches are responsible for initiating the renewal process by contacting the RSC Speed Division.
Once recognition has been approved, the coach will be added to the current RSC Speed Division Coach Recognition List, which will be published on this page. Depending on the coach’s preferences, the listing may include: name, location(s) where coaching services are offered, contact information, relevant coaching and speed skating background. The information displayed may be adjusted at the coach’s request or as deemed appropriate by the RSC Speed Division.
